Premier Meats Australia’s Fertilizer will develop a cattle-based fertilizer market from the feedlot activities within Premier Meats Australia’s own operation. At a larger scale operation, it will involve all the participants of the Satellite Program that will create a bigger base for the cattle waste sourcing.

In all feedlots, waste management is an integral part of the system. A proper cleansing process has to be in place to maintain good hygiene and prevent diseases amongst the livestock.

Manure is washed down into a settling basin used for collecting solids. Its principle is the collection of liquid and solid wastes which are pumped into a vibrating screen and pressed to separate liquids from solids. The solid waste is then treated and mixed with other compounds to produce an organic fertilizer compound which can then be sold to farmers and plantation owners.
